:: OCEANTALK TAKES NIGHT VISION TECHNOLOGIES ON BOARD

Leading US night & day vision systems manufacturer NVTi has appointed Oceantalk as their Australasian and S E Asian distributor - a fitting choice given Oceantalk's position as the region's leading supplier of marine electronics.

“We are delighted to be representing such a fine brand,” said Oceantalk MD Robin Kydd. “This is remarkable technology and the benefits are so clear… the cameras have wide appeal in our markets.”

The current range of ten cameras utilises Thermal Imaging technology to identify objects in darkness and through smoke, haze and a host of other environmental conditions. However, because Thermal Imaging technology does have some limitations, NVTi has taken the technology to the next level.

In the range you will find models that combine GEN III Image Intensification Low-Light and High Resolution Colour cameras with the Thermal camera. This combination of technologies in the same system means you can choose the best camera for the situation, the one that provides optimal detection and identification given the prevailing light and conditions.

The result is exceptionally sharp detail, clearer identification of small objects, colour reproduction and better performance in a wider range of environments.

All cameras are fixed mounted, easy to install, extremely robust and are made from the latest corrosion resistant materials. The pan and tilt functions provide a wider field of vision than is commonly found in other cameras and zoom lenses are also available on some models.

Commercial craft, security and search & rescue vessels are clear candidates for NVTi systems but, with prices starting at around $20K, larger leisure boats can also take advantage of the technology. For better navigation and safety, for easier docking at night and in adverse conditions, and as an alternative to a second, close-up radar, these systems have a lot offer.

It's worth finding out more - and you can count on the technical knowledge of the team at Oceantalk to put you in the picture.
